The dress became a symbol of sexual empowerment and was worn by Wallis Simpson ahead of her marriage to Edward VIII. Dalí and Schiaparelli continued their work together by creating the famous shoe hat and the skeleton dress. Lobsters, skeletons and ocean trinkets aren’t exactly the first images that come to mind when picturing haute couture. But they are some of the most iconic symbols associated with Schiaparelli, one of the most revered couture houses in the world. Although a fish skeleton necklace might seem like the antithesis of elegance, it makes perfect sense in the Schiap universe – and it’s exactly what the brand has delivered for its SS25 accessories campaign. Photographed by Drew Vickers, the skeletal rhinestone necklace is featured alongside the new soufflé bag, which includes gold brass anatomical charms on the handle.
