We know this because the French designer just dropped a brand new campaign for his eponymous label, and it’s all about creepy Greg from the show, aka sexagenarian actor Jon Gries. In the new images, Gries can be seen chilling on a golf course gripping various bananas in the brand’s comfy sweats, sharp suits and roomy slacks. Cheekily titled ‘GOING BANANAS FOR JON’, the theme of the shoot runs throughout, with the actor reclining on a banana-yellow car, driving round a cart full of bananas, and even getting a banana hole-in-one. Elsewhere in the shoot, Gries hangs out with a llama, sits in a wheelbarrow full of tulips, holds up a sign that says ‘I LOVE BANANAS’ and shows off his fruity boxer shorts, which are also adorned with bananas (they really went all in on the theme). Speaking of the theme, the French designer has been pretty obsessed with that fruit for a while, sending a printed dress down the runway for his La Croisière show back in January. As well as that, this past weekend the brand also opened its first ever LA store, and the launch was also banana themed. Guests were greeted by a market stall full of the fruit, the decor was all yellow, the clothes had bananas all over them, and there was even a huge banana car parked outside. Everyone from Daniel Roseberry, Anwar Hadid and Cole Sprouse turned up for the event, as well as new campaign star Gries, who wore a sleek black suit and chunky specs. Though Jacquemus is super savvy for riding The White Lotus wave while it’s hot, this isn’t the first time the show’s stars have been tapped by fashion brands. Just last month US brand GAP enlisted season three’s Parker Posey for its SS25 campaign, while Simona Tabasco and Beatrice Grannò (who played sex workers Mia and Lucia in season two) were hired by Kim Kardashian for a 2023 Skims campaign.
