But while the original gown from Artemis’ SS25 collection featured a pageant sash with the phrase ‘Miss Universe’ across it, Charli’s custom version said ‘Miss Should be Headliner’ instead. After posting a shot of the dress on X, Charli caused a fashion firestorm, attracting the ire of fans who’d decided she was intentionally shading Green Day (the actual headliners that day). The silly little feud ended with Green Day frontman Billy Joe Armstrong wearing a Brat cap on stage during the band’s next performance, drummer Tré Cool wearing an ‘Actual Headliner’ sash made from toilet paper, and then that was that. In comparison, Coachella 2025’s second weekend was mostly free from any fashion drama. Green Day stan wars aside, most artists rode the same wave as the first weekend, going for slightly altered versions of their original outfits. BLACKPINK star Jennie donned mirrored shades and another cowboy hat, this time a classic black Stetson, Amaarae opted for a spiked version of her weekend one leather outfit, and Sexyy Redd joined Glorilla on stage looking like, well, Sexyy Redd. The closest thing we got to any drama was Tyla wearing an outfit akin to Britney Spears’ iconic VMAs look – where she danced with an albino python in 2001 – only for the South African singer to later deny any inspiration was taken. “Love her but I just thought the outfit was fly,” she wrote on X after the performance. “No inspo.” Besides that non-drama, The White Lotus star Lisa swept through a series of outfit changes which included some dinosaur spikes and a light-up fairy dress, but the best of the bunch was a padded black coat tied up with giant chains. Elsewhere, Stranger Things actor Joe Keery (who performs as Djo) was coming for The Dare’s gig in a shirt and tie and sunglasses, Rema went full Opium in skin tight pants and a lengthy prop sword, Clairo continued her winning streak in a playful white mini, while Megan Thee Stallion switched from a faux-fur bolero jacket to True Religion booty shorts.
