As an artist, filmmaker, and writer, her multidisciplinary work has often incorporated humor with critical commentary on race, power, and the everyday absurdities of digital life. Whether through video installations, performance, or print, Syms’ work holds up a mirror to the systems that govern how we see ourselves, and each other. Over the years, her projects have been exhibited everywhere from MoMA to Tate Modern, while her publishing imprint, Dominica, has been a key platform for voices exploring Black radical thought. Now, Syms brings her signature perspective to H&M’s S/S 2025 campaign, taking over the Soho flagship store in New York to debut a special project she has been working on. Alongside the zine signing, Syms be taking over the DJ booth, curating a set with special guest sets including Sienna Fekete and keiyaA. As part of the collaboration, Syms has also designed a limited-edition artwork titled Astrology Is Real If You Want It, which will be printed on a selection of free t-shirts and posters.
