Between its global event series and the announcement of its partnership with Glenn Martens, the Swedish high-street brand has been dedicated to getting its new brand image on the map. Now its in-house atelier, H&M Studio, is back with a Holiday Capsule collection for 2024 in time to get you ready for end-of-year parties. Releasing on November 21, the collection revisits timeless eveningwear elements. Combining refined tailoring and dramatic statement pieces with unconventional accents, you can expect subtle nods to traditional holiday glam you would imagine in your favourite Christmas rom-com. This year, H&M Studio’s Holiday Capsule collection also leans into tailoring’s confident impact on evening style, balanced with high-shine elements. Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor and head of design womenswear at H&M, describes the aesthetic as “self-assured”, saying, “We distilled sharp silhouettes and edgy details in ways that feel effortless to wear this party season, combining them with covetable accessories that spark desire.” Courtesy of H&M Highlights from the collection include a sharply tailored navy suit and a black leather coat that evoke clean, confident lines, while a champagne-toned gown offers a relaxed yet eye-catching take on traditional eveningwear. The H&M Holiday Capsule collection’s denim pieces, with gold accents, transition effortlessly from day to night, while a padded leather bomber adds a more casual but equally sophisticated option. Accessories are crafted to refine the look, featuring items like gold leather bags, heeled boots, and rhinestone-studded jewellery. Elsewhere, some of the collection is made from chrome-free leather, premium wool, organic cotton, and Naia™ Renew cellulose yarn, alongside recycled polyester and jewellery made from recycled metals. Kathrin Deutsch, collection designer at H&M Studio, notes, “This season the design team was channelling quiet confidence, creating after-dark pieces that set pulses racing while making you feel at ease.” For the first time, eight pieces from the capsule will be available for rental, including unique colourways and standout pieces like an oyster-white bubble-hem skirt and top designed as a fresh alternative for bridal wear.
