Photographed by Los Angeles-based photographer Zoë Ghertner, the campaign features Cara Delevingne, Ethel Cain, musician Charlotte Cardin, singer MINNIE and model Caitlin Soetendal. Ghertner, renowned for her naturalistic style and powerful portrayals of women, captures each subject in a series of portraits encouraging authenticity. When it was first shown back in March, Miu Miu’s AW24 collection took a bold departure from the ultra-short micro skirts Miuccia Prada has showcased in recent seasons. It embraced a more modest aesthetic, featuring models adorned with pearl necklaces and holding handbags at their sides. However, as fashion writer Dominic Cadogan argued, the looks aren’t entirely prim and proper, with “chic cocktail numbers appearing wrinkled and shirt collars askew.” While this is Simz’s first time in a Miu Miu campaign, the AW24 campaign marks Cain’s second time with the brand. The Southern Gothic princess was also featured in Miu Miu’s AW23 alongside Mia Goth and Dazed cover star Zaya Wade.
