This week, the French designer – who’s still happily married to his husband, btw – officially entered the wedding chat with the launch of Jacquemus’ first ever bridal collection. Though brides and their guests have been wearing Jacquemus to chic summer weddings for years, ‘Le Mariage’ is the brand’s first proper foray into the bridal sector, and is accompanied by a Oliver Hadlee Pearch-lensed campaign where guests frolic on the beach before chugging champers and licking a few ice cream cones. Despite wedding tradition, there’s no frumpy bows or bridesmaids done dirty at this party – Simon’s chic offering sees guests clad in draped dresses and sharp suits, while pillarbox hats and floral veils are given their own Jacquemus twists. In other fashion news this week, a seismic rift opened in the Californian desert as Coachella underwent a fashion identity crisis; also at Coachella, Quen Blackwell dished her top tips on keeping it luxe at this summer’s festivals; elsewhere, Shayne Oliver was announced as Jean Paul Gaultier’s next enfant terrible; Underground fashion bimbos OPIA set their sights on runway domination; 6 people stripped off and told us intimate stories about their bras; Jeremy O.
