Miuccia Prada’s only competition is herself. If you don’t believe it, head over to the Lyst Index Q4 2023. For those that failed GCSE Business, Q4 refers to the final three months of the year, and the Lyst Index is fashion’s data driven ranking system, cataloguing the top 20 hottest brands in the world. For its latest report, Mrs P comes in at both number one and number two, with Prada reclaiming the crown Miu Miu clung on to for Q3. According to the findings, searches for Prada have skyrocketed 41 per cent year-on-year, due in part to a collaboration with NASA on its lunar spacesuits, plus the label’s immersive Pradasphere II experience that opened in Shanghai. Elsewhere, Jonathan Anderson’s Loewe comes in at number three, buoyed by its Rihanna-in-red Superbowl fashion moment, while Bottega Veneta’s viral A$AP Rocky campaign bagged the brand fourth place. And while we didn’t really need reminding of the power of Prada, it’s welcome news that this 74-year-old fashion designer has the world’s monopoly on cool.

In other fashion news this week, Moschino appointed Adrian Appiolaza as its new creative director; Caroline Polachek’s gargantuan dress took up three seats on the bus; Cailee Spaeny slicked down her fringe for a Miu Miu campaign; the world still isn’t over Margiela’s couture show; Courrèges’s Nicolas Di Felice curated an exclusive party playlist for Dazed Fashion; scientists discovered prehistoric style tribes in ancient Europe; Couture Week street style implemented its own Full Look Policy; plus Juergen Teller did a poo in the woods.
