While living in a big city can be filled with excitement, fun and seemingly unlimited opportunity, finding the balance between being active and equally grounded in the moment can be difficult. To celebrate the release of the GT-2160™ sneaker, Japanese sports label ASICS’ latest campaign sees the launch of its ‘City Ambassador Program’, a brand new initiative drawing attention to individuals who use movement to stay grounded.
Recruiting eclectic talents based in Paris, Berlin, and Amsterdam, the new ambassadors apply the ‘Sound Mind, Sound Body’ philosophy ASICS honours. Over the next month, we will be spotlighting three of the creatives involved in the City Ambassador Program.
In three mini films, Amalia, Selassie and Manon unpack the various ways their creative practices work in conjunction with finding balance between their purpose and their passions. With a strong emphasis on movement, the campaign highlights the importance of physical and mental well-being. Tapping into the Japanese notion of Ikigai (生き甲斐), which translates to a reason for being, the films also show each ambassador apply this concept in their creative environment, while sporting the new trainer.
As an homage to the GT-2000™ series from the early 2010s, the GT-2160™ keeps the iconic heritage design with distinct technical details including sculpted midsoles and dual GEL™ technology inserts. New sleek additions are combined with ASICS’ industrial aesthetic to give the trainer a refreshed look.
