It meant that he approached SS23 with instinct and intuition and imagination, breaking from its past blueprint. “I trusted my imagination and the memories I have about Etro,” the designer says. “And I did not put so much on the table. Only a few ingredients: an ancient fabrics book, a Japanese street-style book, and a pic of an apple in a tiny raffia basket with Dutch clogs.“ Out with the boho frocks and fluid paisley gowns, in with structured silhouettes: columnar denim skirts, jacquard capes, oversized shirts, cropped two-pieces, and mini dresses with a severe pelt of fringe.
