Luar scored big at the CFDAs while Cher and Balmain welcome their baby
Chlöe Sevigny’s wedding was quite cool. A little quaint, very glam, and with a bottomless bucket of cigarettes for guests, the actor got hitched in hot couture – her looks running the gamut of Glenn Martens for Jean Paul Gaultier, Mugler, and Loewe. And now, Sevigny is fronting Jonathan Anderson’s SS23 Pre-collection at Loewe, which is basically the filler that comes before all the iPad coats, grassy sneakers, and orchid tops of the main SS23 drop. Flanked by Luca Guadanigno and Taylor Russell, Sevigny was seemingly shot in Juergen Teller’s back garden in a big multicoloured duvet coat and Flamenco clutch. It’s the latest example of Anderson’s star pull, with each campaign seemingly an excuse to out-random himself with a behemoth cast of cult collaborators.
In other fashion news this week, people got really annoyed that Diesel’s infamous belt-skirt was more belt than skirt, Dior got really annoyed at a ‘super milf’ on OnlyFans, and Mark Bryan got really annoyed at gay people, and then gay people got really annoyed at him. Elsewhere, Chan-young Yoon became a zombie-slaying star of Coach’s new campaign, while Margaret Thatcher’s horcrux was found on the RealReal, and a new fashion documentary exposed the dark truth of fashion’s so-called golden era. CHER AND OLIVIER ROUSTEING WELCOME THEIR BABY
Not really – but they have done a campaign together, picking up from Cher’s cameo at Balmain’s SS23 show. The ageless musician was this week unveiled as the face of Rousteing’s new Blaze handbag: a baguette-shaped, buckle-embellished leather shoulder bag festooned in gold-tone metal. BALLY CURLS OVER
Bally has just launched an apres ski collection inspired by Curling – which is one of those sports that people do at the winter Olympics. Shot in St. Moritz by Marie Schuller and styled by Dazed’s fashion director Imruh Asha, the capsule sees Rhuigi Villaseñor play with varsity and western tropes. The collection is stocked at Selfridges, select Bally stores, and online at bally.com. See more here.
MIU MIU HAS A VERY PRIVATE WISH
This week, Miuccia Prada released Private Wishes: Miu Miu’s holiday campaign. Shot by Tyrone Lebon, it stars Esther McGregor, Mona Tougaard, and actor You-mi Lee. “A perfectly formed collection is designed to appeal to our personal fantasies, all of them different, individual, gently provocative,” an accompanying text reads. “The campaign is both a mirror of the time and a dreamscape, inward looking – private – but an outward looking reflection of innermost thoughts.” Make Mrs P’s wish come true here.
ECKHAUS LATTA KNUCKLED A MOOSE
The second collaborative capsule from Eckhaus Latta and Moose Knuckles dropped this week, a commingling of EL’s off-kilter cool and the Canadian outerwear company’s technical prowess. In celebration, the two brands erected ice sculptures in surprise SoHo and Lower East Side locations, inspired by the campaign imagery. Encased within each creation is a piece from the collection, meaning anyone can nab a coat once the ice melts. See more from the offering here.
TIFFANY & CO LIGHTS AN ADVENT CANDLE FOR WARHOL

DRIES VAN STÜSSY
Stüssy and Dries Van Noten launched a collaborative capsule this week, with a bizzaro campaign featuring Flea, the founding member and bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Captured by Tyrone Lebon, the musician bounds about in tie-dye sweatpants, playing basketball in loose-fitting asteroid-print shorts, and an American varsity jacket emblazoned with co-branded logos. It’s probably sold out here.
ALEXANDER MCQUEEN DROPS INTO THE BARBICAN

CASABLANCA PINES FOR ATLANTIS
Casablanca has unveiled its first ever in-house sneaker dubbed the Atlantis. Launching on November 16, the shoe takes its name from the lost city of Atlantis, paying homage to the underwater metropolis with aqueous lines on its boat-like sole. Its upper, meanwhile, is more classic in design, referencing tennis shoes in perforated leather and suede accents.
