Fashion / NewsFashion / NewsLegendary SATC costume designer Patricia Field won’t return for the rebootCarrie Bradshaw’s loss is Emily in Paris’s gainShareLink copied ✔️May 22, 2021May 22, 2021TextThom WaiteEvery outfit on Sex & the City Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Sex and the City — or rather the forthcoming reboot, And Just Like That — is set to star its first non-binary character, seeing actor Sara Ramírez join the show’s original stars Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Kristen Davis (Charlotte York), and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes). Now, a senior production source on And Just Like That has revealed that more famous faces will be returning to our screens. “Viewers will definitely see Big, Aiden, and Steve,” the source tells the Daily Mail, teasing the comeback of leading men Chris Noth, John Corbett, and David Eigenberg, respectively. One notable loss for the show’s revival, however, is Patricia Field. The legendary Sex and the City costume designer was responsible for some of the most iconic on-screen looks of the era, which continue to fill our social media feeds to this day, but won’t be returning due to a Very Important work commitment: Emily in Paris. In case you missed it, Field is also the brain behind the chaotic, avant basic fashion in Netflix’s much-loved, much-hated show — AKA one of 2020’s biggest fashion influences, for better or for worse. And, with Emily in Paris season two on the way, she’s got her hands full (presumably tasked with helping Emily appear less obnoxious). “Patricia Field is not coming back,” the source confirms. “She is focusing on Emily in Paris. This is a first for the show as the clothes for the sixth season and two movies were all styled by Patricia.” Sex and the City fans don’t need to despair though, as Field is leaving the costume design in capable hands. Stepping in to fill her stilettos on And Just Like That is Molly Rogers, a stylist under Field on the original series, whose credits also include The Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty. And Just Like That, which will consist of ten half-hour episodes, is set to start production this summer in New York (watch a teaser below).
