Byredo launches a pandemic-perfume and Mowalola gets a new jewellery gig
Megan’s been at it with the hot girl shit again this week, landing a monumental gig as the face of Calvin Klein. Alongside Euphoria’s Jacob Elordi and Rina Sawayama, the “WAP” rapper is the latest in a star-studded legacy of impossibly good-looking Calvin Klein muses. In a chat with Vogue, the Houston native confessed it had been a lifelong dream to front a CK campaign. And reader, we couldn’t be happier for her.
Elsewhere, this week marked the final stretch of yet another digital fashion season. In Paris, Marine Serre imbued romance into life’s most mundane moments, Ottolinger beamed us up to Mars, and Coperni defied the odds to host an actual in-person show, while Rick Owens transformed a Venetian pier into an eclesiastical hellscape.
In other news, this week has been a major one for collaborations. We saw Placebo legend Brian Molko front Marc Jacobs’ Heaven line in a Harley Weir lensed campaign. Hood by Air teased its relaunch with a Naomi campaign. Gucci and EXO frontman, Kai, launched a limited capsule, which is the first time an Italian fashion house has collabed with a K-popstar. Then, of course, there was the most berserk pair of shoes – coming courtesy of adidas and Estonian rapper Tommy Cash, they were sure to jolt you out of any lockdown stupor.
Check out the gallery below for all the other fashion news that may have passed you by this week.

The new Byredo smells like unprecedented times
Appropriately named “Mixed Emotions”, Byredo has launched a new fragrance which is designed to “reflect the tumultuous nature of our times”. Nope, it’s not made up of earring backs and despair, but comforting notes of maté, black tea, and violet leaf synthetics.
Ben Gorham, the brains and nose behind the brand, wanted to create a fragrance that captured our current frame of mind. Fortunately, we know that whatever the aroma, it will be far too gorj of a scent to accurately reflect our current mental state.

Mowalola has linked up with blobb
London drip gawd Mowalola has joined forces with jewellery designer, blobb, to launch a new line of Mowalola “M” rings. Think gummy textures in jewel tones with teensy, tiny diamantes. Sofia Elias, an architecture graduate and blobb’s founder, describes her work as baby sculptures for the body. And that’s exactly what these rings embody, serving arts and crafts table and high-end concept. They drop at 7pm today (March 5) on Mowa's website.

Moncler and JW Anderson have united again on a Genius collab
Moncler’s Genius Project has become renowned for its immersive, blockbuster Milanese presentations that showcase the weird and wonderful designer collabs of the season. Obviously. that’s not going to happen this year, so the olympian-scale shows have been reduced to a lookbook, like this JW Anderson one.
Unlike the spiky puffers of last year’s collab, JW Anderson has taken this season’s collection down a more functional route. There’s some whacky quilting, admittedly, but it’s mostly just warm coats, roomy knits, and practical utilitarian trousers that dominate this capsule.

Hugo Comte shoots Moose Knuckles
Hugo Comte has to be the hardest working photographer in the business, shooting the likes of Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa on the regular. Now, he’s back behind the camera for the Canadian outerwear brand Moose Knuckles, capturing its SS21 “Arise” campaign. It comes as Comte launches his first photography book, which is very nearly sold out and very nearly on every East London coffee table. You won’t see this campaign on his Insta though, as he’s deleted everything which came after the release of his monograph. Still, there’s plenty to feast your eyes on over here.

Saint Laurent is launching live music sessions
Anthony Vacarello and Saint Laurent kick off a new series of live music sessions, where the brand will platform emerging musicians live from its Rive Droite flagship in Paris. First up is musician Franky Gogo who’s performing live today (March 5). Check it out on Saint Laurent’s website, socials, and, conveniently, all streaming platforms.

Bimba y Lola is throwing an International Women’s Day party
Spanish label Bimba y Lola has joined forces with a slew of up-and-coming DJs from across the globe to celebrate all that it is to be a woman, and have a good time while doing so. Curated by cult polish DJ VTSS, this weekend, the brand will share mixes from the likes of Chippy Nonstop, Lokier, Lyzza, Rui Ho, and Yha Yha. Tune in live and direct on the Bimba y Lola IG.

3. Paradis is honouring the women in its life
To celebrate International Women’s Day, French Canadian brand 3. Paradis is launching a long-term project titled “Life is born of a woman”. Kicking things off are seven photographers (among them Stephen Tayo and Julien Boudet), who will capture the women closest to them wearing the 3. Paradis “Life is born of a woman” t-shirt.
The limited edition tee will launch on the label's website on March 8 and all proceeds will go to The Shoebox Project – a charity that collects and distributes gift-filled shoe boxes around the world.
