I Choose You! Pokémon Go teams up with The North Face and Gucci

Catch ‘em all

It feels like only yesterday when brands were turning their designs into digital attire for avatars on Animal Crossing and The Sims. From Sports Banger’s ‘Fuck Boris’ T-shirts to Telfar, Mugler, and Bottega Veneta, we thought we’d seen it all, until now.

Now, Gucci and The North Face are taking their joint collection into the digiscape with a new Pokémon Go collab – as in, the augmented reality game that saw thousands walk gormlessly around shopping centres and Costas in search of Jigglypuffs and Pikachus back in 2016.

Launched over 100 PokéStops around the world, the new collab allows players to dress their avatars in items based on the t-shirts, hats, and backpacks from The North Face x Gucci collection.

Special in-game items will also be available at select Gucci stores and a wave of “Gucci Pins experience” locations across the United States and Canada.

Based on The North Face’s original designs from the 70s, the collection – first debuted in December last year – features ready-to-wear pieces for men and women including goose-feather down padded coats, windbreakers, cosy fleeces, jumpsuits, and refined silk-twill bowling sets. There’s also accessories, shoes, and equipment like tents and sleeping bags.

Find out more about the collection here and then head on over to Pokémon Go for a full rundown of your nearest Poké-stops.
