No, not leading actors Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal, but a slinky chain worn around Mescal’s character Connell’s neck. Inspiring journalist Billie Bhatia to start the accessory its own Instagram account, it now has over 163k thirsty followers, who all dream of the chain being pressed up against their skin. Well, stop lusting and start bidding, because yesterday Mescal announced that it would be going up for auction. Posting on Instagram, the actor said: “In light of ep nine and ten airing on BBC and RTÉ today and tomorrow, episodes that deal with mental health and suicide, I’ve decided to support @pieta.house. I’ve personally seen the amazing work this charity has done in terms of helping those in need. I will be raffling one of my chains by @roxannefirst and all proceeds will be going to Pieta.” Already raising over €19k from 1,171 donations, there’s another 13 days, one hour, 28 mins, and seven seconds (and counting) until bidding stops – so you’ve still got plenty of time to enter and the more you donate, the more entries you’ll get, but it’s still anyone’s game at this point as the final winner will be picked at random.
