Although fashion has come some way since 2007 when the show first premiered, it doesn’t mean our love for the Upper East Siders' looks has subsided (if anything, given our current obsession with the 00s, they've only intensified). Good news then, that it has now been confirmed that Eric Daman, Gossip Girl's OG costume designer, is set to be overseeing the wardrobe of the upcoming GG reboot. Speaking to Teen Vogue, in a very Gossip Girl tone we might add, Daman said: “OMGG I am sooo thrilled to be a part of the new GG Generation! It has been incredible to see the youth of today discovering and bingeing GG during these times!! Very excited to delight and inspire all of the GG Fans, new and OG, with some delicious, trendsetting fashions for this new era! Can’t Wait!! XoXo, E.” Gossip Girl has, of course, gained a new audience recently, thanks to the entire series being available to stream on Netflix. With a whole new gen of teens discovering the show for the first time and documenting their bewildered obsession with it by way of TikTok, elsewhere it became the centre of a meme storm earlier this month. News surrounding the return of the legendary series has been swirling since July last year, but as of last month, a release date, along with its newly instated cast, which includes Tavi Gevison, Thomas Doherty, Adam Chanler-Berat, and Zion Moreno, has been confirmed. The show will be available to watch on HBO. So, with Daman back in the driving seat when it comes to its fashions, we ask: Will there be headbands? Are coloured tights making a comeback? Will the show reboot some of the 00s-esque looks featured the first time around? Or are we going to be seeing an all new, contemporarily dressed clique of Upper East Siders? Stay tuned to find out.
