Due to be released in the UK by distribution company Dogwoof next week, Reiner Holzemer’s documentary sees Martin himself open up about his inspirations, the importance of anonymity, and why he’s may not quite done with fashion yet. Perhaps unsurprisingly, is notably devoid of any XXX-rated hardcore sex scenes. More’s the pity, some might say. Though in this instance, the film has been unofficially leaked, in early March, Pornhub released its first-ever non-adult film. Shakedown, by former Hood By Air CEO Leilah Weiraub is a dreamy, kaleidoscpoic dive into the queer strip club scene of Los Angeles in the early 00s, first shown in various galleries. “This film is part of a larger general commitment Pornhub has to supporting the arts,” Pornhub’s brand director, Alex Klein stated at the time. “We want to be seen as a platform that artists and creators can use.” Though how the Martin Margiela: In His Own Words documentary landed on Pornhub is currently under investigation, and no, unfortunately we can’t share the link with you, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that, one day, the film might find a more official place on the site.
