Alexander McQueen is setting followers a series of creative challenges

The label wants you to get arty in isolation

Bored of isolation yet? Though staying inside is obviously important, and those of us who are able to work from home are truly lucky to be able to do so, you wouldn’t be alone if you’ve found, with a few weeks under our belts, that cabin fever is starting to set in.

Good news then that Alexander McQueen is encouraging you to get creative in quarantine, announcing a new initiative called ‘McQueen Creators’, which asks its followers to make art based on a selection of images. With a new artistic challenge announced each week, the first task prompts those taking part to sketch the house’s ‘roses’ dress from its AW19 collection.

“Find your sketchbook and chosen materials, screenshot the picture you'd like to sketch, and sketch, colour, or paint your favourite image,” the label wrote in an Instagram post. Asking those taking part to then upload their artwork online, using the hashtag #McQueenCreators, some of the most inspiring pieces will be featured across the house’s social media platforms.

With future projects set to include 3D creations and embriodery, the initiative hopes to encourage people from McQueen’s creative community to work ‘together from home’.
