David Koma has been keeping himself busy since his striking MA collection and unsurprisingly, he has found a fan in Lady Gaga. His new collection shown off-schedule as part of Vauxhall Fashion Scout's Merit Award pared back on the metal theatrics whilst still playing around with geometric shapes. Looking to the sculptures of Niki de Saint Phalle in Barcelona and the Arts and Crafts movement shakers like Sole Le Witt, Koma created exaggerated curves on 60s dresses, colour blocked with bright primary popping colours and using black to pipeline everyting. Glass jewellery that was also colour-blocked were the only accompaniments needed in a collection where the lines of the dresses did all the talking.
