Despite ceasing publication in 2002, the magazine’s legacy endures today and is now the focal point of Acne’s latest capsule collection. Delving into its extensive archives, the Swedish label has created a range of pieces all embodying the spirit of Propaganda in varying ways. Featuring short and long-sleeved shirts, jumpers, tee-shirts, and denim jeans, pieces are all emblazoned with iconic imagery from the magazine in the form of covers and typography. Elsewhere is a range of accessories that see glasses, silk scarves, and clutch bags detailed with the words ‘black leather’, ‘gloom and glam’, and ‘glamicide’. Founded by Fred H Berger, whose photography was an intrinsic part of the magazine, Propaganda's images have gone on to pave the way for the goth style which has shifted from a subcultural movement to a bonafide fashion trend throughout the 2010s, through the likes of Venus X, Lil Uzi Vert, and Playboi Carti. The collection is now available from Acne Studios’ website and in-store. Acne Propaganda SS20 capsule collectionCourtesy of AcneEscape the algorithm!
