The singer/actress/designer/what can’t she do took to Instagram to drop the news by sharing a short post, writing: “SEPTEMBER 20TH!! Get ready to watch this year's #SAVAGEXFENTYSHOW only on @amazonprimevideo We are working on creating the most bold, sexy, super energetic experience you can imagine!! @savagexfenty” The event will fall on September 20 within New York Fashion Week, and with the documentary in partnership with NYFW: The Shows, it hints that the Savage X Fenty catwalk will be a part of the already packed official schedule, rather than a stand alone show. In a press release, Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, said “Rihanna has conquered the worlds of music, film, beauty, and fashion. She has reinvented the idea of what fashionable lingerie should be for a global customer. The brand authentically reflects empowering statements of inclusivity, body positivity and fun. The Savage X Fenty show promises to be a groundbreaking and truly unique experience, and were thrilled to give our global customers an exclusice front-row seat.” The Amazon Prime stream will incude behind the scenes footage of the show and the making of the collection, allowing us a peak into Rihanna’s creation of an inclusive lingerie brand for all women. What can we expect from the lingerie brand’s second show? Last year a diverse group of models hit the runway, while a heavily pregnant Slick Woods walked the catwalk in nothing but pasties and a bodysuit. No bombshell bras and mermaid hair here.
