Vaquera has long been renowned for its surrealist, even dadaist visual language, and the brand’s AW26 show took this ethos to new heights. Walking the catwalk was a strange cast of characters, including, according to the show notes, “distorted drab mods, twisted ladies who lunch, [and] abstracted leather daddies”. The aim is to confront “the tension between perfection and chaos,” and ask whether it’s possible to be “unhinged and complete at once.”
