Continuing in that very same vein, footwear label For the Memory of a Lifetime has put forward its own effort in the form of the TimbUgg (yes, that’s a Timberland and Ugg boot all-in-one). Founded last year by former Hood By Air and Rihanna collaborator, Italian designer Gio Forbice, the brand has revealed its second collection for AW19. Along with the TimbUgg, the new collection also features the label’s signature cowboy boot, knee-high PVC boots with stiletto heels, and loafers with diamanté detailing. Working once again with upcoming photographer and filmmaker Jordan Hemingway, the lookbook images feature a group of Forbice’s friend – including stylist and Dazed’s New York fashion editor-at-large Akeem Smith and Russian singer Katerina. “There wasn’t a real casting process for this,” Forbice tells us. “It was just something we did between friends.” As much fun as the group had shooting the images, the designer really hopes people will actually enjoy looking at them, too. “They’re special moments of my life, what I call ‘treasured memories’. I hope that comes across,” he concludes.
