Describing the way that animals are killed for their fur as “absolutely deplorable”, this is a complete turnaround for Gaultier, who has used fur in his collections for years. This continued through to his biannual couture shows, after he presented his last ready-to-wear collection in 2014. The turnaround in attitude is one that has been adopted by a number of big labels – with Versace, Gucci, and Burberry among them.
