And she wrote a letter to Miuccia asking her personally
When she isn’t giving sex and relationship advice to Dazed readers, Pamela Anderson is a keen anti-fur advocate. As US Honorary Director for PETA, Anderson has campaigned for the end of fur use in fashion, and once pointedly sent Kim Kardashian a faux fur coat, in an effort to get her to stop wearing the real thing.
Now, Anderson has turned her attention to Prada, writing a letter directly to Miuccia Prada to ask her to make the Italian house fur-free. “I was disappointed to learn that instead of going fur-free, Prada has chosen merely to reduce the amount of animal pelts that it sells,” the letter reads. “Please, I urge you to drop fur immediately,” she continues.
Prada has yet to respond to Anderson’s letter, but conversations around fur use in fashion continue to gain momentum. Over the past year, Burberry, Versace, Tom Ford, Gucci have all vowed to stop using the controversial material. The British Fashion Council has also implemented measures to eradicate the use of fur during LFW.

Dear Ms Prada,
I have long admired your creativity – and Prada’s timeless nylon bag – but I was disappointed to learn that instead of going fur-free, Prada has chosen merely to reduce the amount of animal pelts that it sells.
A “gradual” reduction is no consolation to animals who are languishing inside tiny cages on fur farms and being anally electrocuted and skinned alive for their fur right now. Please, I urge you to drop fur immediately.
“Humane fur” is like “merciful murder”: It doesn’t exist. Even in countries that participate in the fur industry’s Origin Assured program – which claims that animals are treated “humanely” before they’re slaughtered – investigations by PETA and other animal-protection groups have repeatedly shown that cruelty is rampant, as you can see in this brief video.
Consumers know that there’s “kind” way to kill animals for their fur, and leaders in the fashion industry have taken notice – including Burberry, Giorgio Armani, Versace, Gucci, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney, and many others that have banned fur.
