Fashion / NewsFashion / NewsWatch Dsquared2 turn Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner into cowgirlsThe models check-in to a seedy motel for the brand’s AW18 campaignShareLink copied ✔️June 14, 2018June 14, 2018TextKelly Morgans Earlier this year Dsquared2 presented its western-themed AW18 collection to the fashion world and it seems designers Dan and Dean Caten have decided to stick to their guns for the season’s campaign. Set against the backdrop of a retro motel room adorned with 60s décor, the label’s latest campaign portrays Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner as a pair of bad girl honeys. In the campaign film – directed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott – we see Hadid and Jenner check-in to the motel set somewhere off a highway in the sprawling Midwest. Dressed in dark button-down jeans and stilettos that would put Dolly Parton to shame, the models swing their bigger-than-big hair over the collar of their check shirts before calling up their guys – equipped with buckled belts and bolo ties – for an in-room party. A vision of Old Hollywood interpretations of the Wild, Wild West, the film visually mirrors the inspiration for the collection’s key pieces, from yorked detail shirts to svelte denim and embellished jackets. Never ones to sail too far away from the brand’s roots, a number of the Caten twins’ latest capsules have included western references and motifs. Ahead of their upcoming show in Milan, as part of the menswear fashion week schedule this weekend, we wonder whether Dsquared2’s guys and gals will continue to light up the rodeo for SS19.
