Gucci heads to Paris for its show next season

Bonjour bitch!

Since he took over the helm of Gucci, designer Alessandro Michele has known how to keep us on our toes. With the upcoming Cruise 2019 show to be held in Arles, France, it seems the designer is taken with the country, moving the SS19 show there too.

“All the places I travel to for cruise also belong to my personal story,” Michele told WWD. “They are heartfelt places, which have a lot of meaning to me. Nothing is accidental.” Maybe the severed heads at the last Gucci show were a clue. Paying homage to France’s famous guillotine perhaps?

Little is known about what the Paris-based show will entail but as with the Italian house’s most recent collections, the upcoming SS19 show will be co-ed – featuring both the latest menswear and womenswear offerings.
