@nicolaformichettiFashionNewsNicola Formichetti is leaving DieselAfter four years as artistic director, the designer and stylist is leaving to focus on other creative pursuitsShareLink copied ✔️December 18, 2017FashionNewsTextDominic Cadogan While you might think that the end of the year means fashion brands will be winding down, it seems that the fast-paced energy of the industry has no plans on slowing. Just in, is the announcement is that Nicola Formichetti will be stepping down from his position as artistic director at Diesel after four years. Starting out as a stylist – first working with Lady Gaga – Formichetti took over the helm of the denim brand’s mainline in 2013 after a stint at Parisian house Mugler. The first in the role at the brand, he transformed it collaborating on campaigns with photographers like Nick Knight and David LaChapelle. “It’s not the end with Diesel, but I have my own brand Nicopanda,” the designer and stylist told WWD. “There will be more styling, going deeper with musicians and actors. My dream is to work on a movie.” Would watch. The news of Formichetti leaving Diesel follows other fashions exits, with Christopher Bailey parting ways with Burberry and Jonathan Saunders stepping down at DVF. Like both of those positions, it is currently unknown who will replace him as of yet. As a longtime contributor to Dazed, we wish Formichetti all the best in the future and are looking forward to seeing what he comes up with next.
