John Varvatos was first today, making cool youthful casual suiting seem effortless with the help of a great casting line up and AnOther Man editor Bryan McMahon on hand styling the show this time around. Next up D&G went to the rodeo for their S/S10 collection with cow boy boots, sand blasted and ripped up denim and rhinetsone studded denim jackets, sent out on a catwalk of dusty sand. Signaling another salute to the great outdoors. which seems to be a real trend so far for the S/S10 collections was DSquared who put on a real extravaganza of a show, with boys coming out of a American summer camp style setting. Surrounded by giant pine tree trunks, boys were dressed for the outdoors and summer camp activities, equipped with a sleeping bag ensemble, traveller backpacks and big fishing waders. A DSquared radio station was on hand playing a mega mix of nostalgic summer songs by Joni Mitchell to Sweet Home Alabama. The styling was great; boys wore tuxedos on the top half and dungaree workwear on the bottom half. Traditional waistcoats were replaced with life jacket hybrids and for the finale, a kagoul clad gang of boys stood in the camp while artificial rain came down, literrally bringing the outdoors inside. Next up, Emporio Armani was another theatrical extravaganza. The show opened with a famous stunt cyclist jumping from the top of the seating stalls to the catwalk and then bounced all the way down. Favorite pieces from the collection included the vivid orange suiting and large polka dot shirts. Denim is another trend that seems to be everywhere so far, and Iceberg was not missing out on this trend, showing blue denim style shirts made out of leather earlier on in the day. Other highlights of the day included a Dolce re-see at their amazing showroom. It was great to see all those crystal encrusted suiting pieces close up. The Woolrich presentation was followed by Alexander Mcqueen for Puma's new collection (which now features apparel) and I dropped in to say hi so Marcelo who was DJ-ing at the event. Then it was back to the hotel to change and finally sushi with Shun from Vogue Homme Japan and packing up, ready to leave for Paris...
