It all started eight years ago with the Night Of A Thousand Britney’s at the now-demolished Korsan bar on the Kingsland Road. Since then, the event has seen guests go all-out with get-ups themed around outer space (Space Oddity), mysterious under the sea depths (Tunaween), and all-singing, all-screaming musicals (Bloodbath on Broadway) the most recent event marked Tinaween’s very own ‘VMAs apocalypse’. With a new venue (the White Swan) replacing Metropolis, the world of the awards ceremony provided a wealth of inspiration for guests. Iconic looks by everyone from Dazed cover star Pamela Anderson c.1999 (senior fashion editor Emma Wyman) to Kurt and Courtney (Edie Campbell), Eminem, Madonna, Marilyn Manson and more were recreated. Even Britney and Christina were on hand to re-enact the iconic moment they put aside their rivalry in favour of happily wedded bliss.
