Unsurprisingly, the fashion industry’s response to Brexit has been one of almost unanimous dismay. As news of the refendum results broke, LOVE magazine editor-in-chief Katie Grand said she has “never been so unproud to be British” while designer Jonathan Anderson said, “Such a sad day. It upsets me that we have to get to this point.” At Dior Homme’s SS17 show, Karl Lagerfeld (dressed unusually in blue) shared his thoughts on this historic decision – and who he credits it with. “Look who voted, it was the people from deep in the countryside, the big cities didn’t want it at all,” he told AFP. “I don’t think it will work out, they may have another vote,” he went on to say. “I don’t think it is a good idea. The analysis of the vote shows that it is a bad decision. We don’t need to say much more about it.” Lagerfeld joined Dior Homme’s AW16 campaign stars A$AP Rocky and Larry Clark at the show, which was set in a funfair and saw designer Kris Van Assche riff on the styles of different subcultures.
