Come December 5, it’s time for the British fashion industry’s answer to the Academy Awards: the BFAs. While the ceremony itself is still two months away, this year’s nominees have just been announced. A roster of the country’s burgeoning fashion talents are up for an award, including Dazed 100 designers Craig Green and Thomas Tait, as well as Molly Goddard and Grace Wales Bonner.

J.W. Anderson, who took home Menswear Designer at last year’s awards, has won over the British Fashion Council’s 300-strong judging panel again, receiving nominations for both Womenswear and Menswear Designer.

Jourdan Dunn, Malaika Firth and Georgia May Jagger make up the nominees for “Model of the Year”. While Dunn is listed on models.com as a “New Super”, Firth has recently landed campaigns for Burberry, Marc Jacobs and Prada. Jagger on the other hand has fronted Sonia Rykiel’s new campaign, shot by Juergen Teller.

“We are incredibly excited about this year’s British Fashion Awards,” said Natalie Massenet, chairman of the BFC. “The awards recognise the incredible talent we are so fortunate to work with and celebrates the excellence and creativity within our industry both at home and abroad.”

The British Fashion Awards 2014 saw the industry turn out in full force, with a surprise appearance from John Galliano (who presented Anna Wintour with the BFC Outstanding Achievement) and the queen of pop herself, Rihanna.
