Dazed Digital: Except for being one of Scandinavia’s most exciting & creative constellations, please… give us a concise description of Our Legacy.
Our Legacy: We are a very small constellation (consisting of three people). We are very close friends and that is a very important platform for us. We are interested in a lot of different things and try to exceed and erase “classic” borders between “fashion”, “art” etc. Just simply trying to do the things we want and like, in the best possible way, so we can be proud of it.

DD: So, when you created the fictive character of Sean de Germand, who was the role model?
OL: He’s sort of a combo of; our own alter egos, close friends and pure imaginations. He’s also our creative gathering point for ideas and developing, you might say. He has is own way of doing things and we can always ask ourselves: “would Sean do that, would Sean wear that?”

DD: If Our Legacy was a music constellation, how do you believe you’d sound like?
OL: Probably good! Don’t know, we like all kinds of music, but we’re very into it so it’s hard to come up with something specific...

DD: What's your most used idiom phrase?
OL: Oh, I don’t know... Maybe: “It will become more beautiful with time”

DD: What motivates you to create?
OL: We think it’s about exploring and investigating. To do things, learn from them, and do new things even better. It’s about learning from each other and other people, always trying to improve the way of creating and thinking. It’s about the feeling to find out what’s possible and what’s not; you’ll always learn something on the way. Also, it’s about redefining things and put them in a new context, watch it become something else. There are loads of reasons…

DD: How important is fashion, really?
OL: That is an important question. We’ll try to answer shortly… It really depends on how you define fashion. You have to ask yourself why you are doing things. Because you want to or because you are expected to by the “fashion business?”. We think that “fashion as art” is really important, to question things and try to find and bring out something beautiful in something forgotten and less beautiful. Not the actual garment, but the feeling.
We don’t do fashion shows/runways for example. The fashion biz expects that from designers but you don’t have to if you don’t think its right for you. It’s sometimes very easy to look at others in the same business standing in the line doing the same things not knowing why. So, the things you do are important if you love doing them. Fashion as some sort of tool is not the way we’re seeing it. More free thinking…

DD: What do you consider is a major fashion faux pas – in general?
OL:  People taking themselves too serious.

DD: What are the future plans for Our Legacy?
OL: We have several plans.... Continuing to establish ourselves as a strong trademark and developing our skills and passions to create things and make things happen. We want to grow abroad, get our things out for people to see, in the right way. Hopefully, Our Legacy will be referred as not only being “fashionable”. We want more…So keep your eyes open!
