Today, the everyday garment worn by millions has garnered approval from Andy Warhol ("I want to die with my blue jeans on") and Yves Saint Laurent ("I have often said that I wish I had invented blue jeans") alike. While you might be tempted to play up the baby blue heritage of denim, Italian jeans brand Replay have gone for monochrome in their new campaign with Russian model Anna Selezneva and British face Isaac Carew. The photographer on lens duties is young star Giampaolo Sgura, who re-imagined Magdalena Frackowiak and Elizabeth Erm as box-fresh living dolls in this Barbie-themed Vogue Paris editorial. "The campaign comes alive through a series of ultra modern shots and portraits in black & white that are equally timeless, at once simple, stark and striking," a statement from the brand reads. "Denim – the brand’s core product, particularly in destroyed mode – plays the lead here in combination with cool and edgy urban inspired items." One thing's for sure: there's definitely still gold in them denim hills. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday.
