Commander in chief: Diane Von Furstenberg had some strong, sexy women in mind for this season. “By day she commands her world, by night she inspires fantasy,” read the show notes, with the designer’s mood board featuring the likes of Katharine Hepburn. Exploring both the divide between day and night and the duality of masculinity and femininity, DVF’s seductresses marched out in sleek pinstriped power suits and dresses for the daytime hours. Come nightfall, they’re “the life of every party” said Von Furstenberg, and dressed in Chantilly lace dresses complete with plunging necklines, bold hued tuxedos or spaghetti-strapped burnout dresses – which could certainly double as the sexiest of nightgowns. Also not to be missed: the shearling bombers, colourful confetti tweed frocks and an evening parka, which according to the designer allows the wearer to “operate incognito as a double agent.” Don't be fooled by her charm; this woman knows exactly what she’s doing. Earned it: Clearly not immune to the fact that Fifty Shades of Grey opened in cinemas this weekend, Diane von Furstenberg’s AW15 show (entitled “Seduction”), included The Weeknd’s song “Earned It” from the film's soundtrack.
