Paris, je t'aime: subtle luxury for the man who enjoys an evening stroll by the Seine

Initial reaction:

A masterclass in subtlety, for protecting oneself in Paris as one walks along the Seine. Véronique Nichanian described it as the “meetings of supple and structured silhouettes.” The Hermès man in the city needs luxurious textures in a muted colour palette and designer Nichanian provides variations of city attire in spades. Blink and you’ll miss it – in true discreet fashion, Hermès also incorporated Irish artist Richard Gorman’s abstract expressionist artwork “Squeeze”, working it onto panelled shirts as the one and only touch of whimsy.

Setting:

A beautiful night vista of the Eiffel Tower and the Seine inside the building of La Maison de la Radio. Perfectly fitting for the “stroll in the city” that Nichanian had envisioned.

Sensual skins:

Mink track bottoms? Croc sweatshirt? Calfskin jacket? Embroidered sheepskin? There’s quiet sensuality in the way Nichanian employed leathers and skins in this collection. They felt like a believable proposition.
