Trussardi SS15

Initial reaction:

Sports casual goes ultra-luxe in a colourful but clean collection of soft leather, knitwear and technical fabrics. In a relay of retro references, flared suede trouser suits reminiscent of a super-luxe Starsky & Hutch were mixed with femme fatale accents, like neck-ties and knitted tank tops a la Faye Dunaway in Bonnie and Clyde.

Athletic elegance:

Back in 1988, Trussardi outfitted the Italian Olympic team, and this season creative director Gaia Trussardi found herself inspired by “the timeless elegance of athletes” – an influence felt in the collection's unexpected mix of athletic shapes and high-end materials. Tank tops, mini skirts, sports jackets and jumpsuits were combined with white and tan leather car coats, crisp cocoon-cut white shirts, padlock necklaces and two-tone side wing sunglasses.

Leather:

Like a library of luxury skins, Trussardi presented red leather trouser suits, biker jackets in cerise and pistachio suede, crocodile skin skirt suits, ostrich and nappa leather coats and perforated accessories.
