Thom Browne took his off-kilter universe ringside last night as the bell sounded in his Moncler Gamme Bleu boxing ring, sending out a procession of boxer boys in preppy-athletic looks and a few girls thrown in for good measure who carried furry boxing gloves. Boxing codes: The Moncler Gamme Bleu outerwear game was played out in lightweight, functional pieces that took their point of departure from boxing aesthetics and fabrics. Padded blazers had red and white boxing glove stitching down the sleeves, bombers were done in functional sporty mesh and hooded robes appeared throughout, interweaved with Prince of Wales check, pinstripes and seersucker. How they wore it: The first rule of Thom Browne’s fight club is that you don’t dress like you’re in fight club. Browne is never one for dressing down and his approach to the rough and ready world of boxing was seen through a polished lens that borrowed from the silk robed end of the sport to explore the dynamic between sportswear and tailoring, like layering sportswear shorts over tweed trousers. The soundtrack to Moncler Gamme Bleu SS15: Last season's collection took Alice in Wonderland to the golf club, with models in head to toe argyle.
