Board games

Dazed and Selfridges team up for the retailer’s epic skate and surf takeover – watch a teaser by Price James

As the free spirit of board culture grips fashion for spring 2014, Selfridges and Dazed have joined forces to present Board Games, a skate and surf magazine celebrating the landmark retailer’s Board Games takeover. Throughout March and April, the store goes surf and turf with the season’s best street fashion and a deck-tastic Board Room shop with limited edition designer decks, hardware and wetsuits.

Kicking off the deck party is a short film by Price James, which sees skaters appearing from a dimly lit and smoky skate park in this season’s key board-ready looks. Later this month, you can get on board at The Old Selfridges Hotel, which will become The Selfridges HTC One Skate Park constructed with interpretations of London’s most iconic skate spots.

Pick up a copy of Board Games with the Spring issue of the new and improved Dazed for a closer look at the extensive influence of skate and surf culture on the fashion landscape, as well as editorial showcasing key looks from the Selfridges Board Games concept store, from streetwear legends like Stüssy and Eastpak to high-end takes on the genre from labels such as Chanel and Christopher Kane.

Yohji Yamamoto also drops in to explain why he’s adorned an exclusive Selfridges skateboard with x-rays of his own skull and we get Kenzo creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon in conversation with Shayne Oliver of Hood by Air for their thoughts on modern streetwear. Let the board games begin.
