For LFW we gave Meadham Kirchhoff and J.W.Anderson a FujiFilm Instax camera each, to document their AW14 season. From make up and moodboards, to models and bespoke perfumes, both snapshot photo diaries give us a clandestine, insider’s perspective. While the catwalks hum with energy and creativity, it appears the real magic is concealed in the moments backstage.
A fantasy trip through sparkling gold streamer curtains, into the dazzling world of Meadham Kirchhoff moon boots and Tralala perfume. Snapping the fairytale deer from SS12 and moodboards documenting their ongoing love for all things Courtney Love, the Kirchhoff studio is a den of inspiration. We wouldn’t expect it any other way, as Edward Meadham commented after the show: “This is the first collection that I wasn’t sad, or angry, or wanted to stab my eyes out!”
Through hazily exposed snaps, J.W.Anderson invites us into his "avant-bland" exploration of "ugly" fabrics. From experimental necklines to corduroy clad handbags, each picture is in perfect synch with Anderson’s earthy AW14 palette, inspired by painter Graham Sutherland.
With special thanks to Fujifilm for the Instax Mini 8 cameras
