Fashion / ShowTopshop Unique AW14Sensual and sumptuous with patchwork furs slipping off shoulders and pop bright leathersShareLink copied ✔️February 16, 2014FashionShowTextIsabella BurleyPhotographyLea ColomboTopshop Unique AW14 Initial reaction: A modern day Catherine Deneuve in Belle de Jour. How they wore it: Embracing the undone glamour of the 70s, fur jackets fell off the shoulders to reveal sheer lingerie and oversized trench coats were pulled in at the waist. Hair was tucked into jumpers, but also left to go wild. Stand out look: A massive pink patchwork fur coat covered in mohair and Mongolian lambs wool. It was thrown onto the body, fell off one shoulder and only held together by a leather belt. Girls rule: Beyoncé’s lyrics – “girls we run this mother…” – closed the show, an appropriate ending to a collection that teased out the sexuality and power of a woman who revels in dressing herself up. With other tracks by M.I.A and AlunaGeorge, and the presence of Lottie Moss (who features in her first editorial in the February issue of Dazed) and Kendall Jenner at the show, we couldn’t agree more that girls rule the world. Surface play: It was all about experimenting with texture – from exotic skins and leathers, to sumptuous fur in every pop colour imaginable.
