Shot by Lea ColomboFashionShowRichard Nicoll AW14A mash up of street wear codes and seventies throwback charm - ruffles, fur and volumeShareLink copied ✔️January 7, 2014FashionShowTextIsabella BurleyPhotographyLea ColomboRichard Nicoll Menswear AW14 Initial reaction: If Patrick Bateman made it to prom. Unexpected details: The return of ruffles – and lot’s of them. This was a subtle throwback to the kitsch charm of the 70s (in the best possible way). Sheer fabrics, aquatic shades and lots of volume. Mash up: The collection didn’t simply pay homage to times past. Modern street wear codes – bombers and loose chequered shirts hanging out of jumpers – were set against oversized power jackets complete with fur trims. Word up: It seems that slogans made it all over the runway on the first day of LC:M (see Matthew Miller’s political statements and Bobby Abley’s horror fuelled graffiti). Nicoll followed suit, printing the words ‘Brutal’ and ‘Discrete’ in neon over jersey jumpers. Casting: Spotted some of our #dazedmodelarmy recruits Matthew Bell and Abel van Oeveren.
