Photography by Lea ColomboFashion / ShowSonia Rykiel SS14Metallic Lurex for the disco, furs for the taxi home, and cardigans for the morning afterShareLink copied ✔️September 27, 2013FashionShowTextIsabella BurleyPhotographyLea ColomboSonia Rykiel SS14 Initial reaction: Disco knits and modest skirts. Atmosphere: Disco lights swirled above us on the ceiling, while Nintendo-like music sound tracked the show. Unexpected details: Metallic Lurex shimmered on long line skirts and tank tops; the ribbon belt on floral applique dresses was loose and languid – like they’d danced all night in it. Stand out looks: The all-encompassing rabbit furs in pale pink and orange, which the models clasped to their chests. Silhouette: All hems finished mid calf - on straight, bias-cut and pleated skirts – lending an elegant, modest feel. Model behaviour: Hanne Gaby in a dressing gown like cardigan, white and shimmering over an illustrated skirt. Prints: The exploded Argyll print in the opening looks, edged in neon. How they wore it: Off centre and hastily buttoned in asymmetrically zipped jackets, like a cover up post-lovers’ clinch at the party. Shoes: Gold and sculptural, worn with pale Lurex socks. Accessories: Striped and jeweled bucket hats left the models’ faces in shadow. Sonia Rykiel SS14Photography by Lea ColomboEscape the algorithm!
