From conjuring up a charred apocalyptic wasteland befitting a dark tale of a battle-scarred woman transfiguring into a Californian condor to a dreamy candlelit mise-en-scene for the Mulleavy’s treatise on Mexican workers, this is one creative partnership that has yielded frequently astonishing results.
