The kaleidoscopic stained glass print suit at Alexander McQueen.

ACCESSORY OF THE DAY:
Children – there were well-dressed nippers at Margaret Howell, Christopher Shannon and Martine Rose.

VENUE OF THE DAY:
The Farmiloe building on St John St, for McQueen. Creaky and creepy, the show took place within the building's original glazed, partitioned rooms upstairs, clinical lighting contrasting with the period architecture. Before the show, downstairs, there was a champagne reception with moody red lighting, the room trailing off into unlit corners. The rare roast beef canapés matched the bloody illumination.

WORDS OVERHEARD OF THE DAY: At Margaret Howell, regarding a young man's grey wig: "He's only doing that because of Warhol. I'd rather be shot than stabbed."
