Approximately two hours after the Versace show, it was time for Versus, also at the iconic via Gesù villa where Gianni lived. The invite cryptically stated a special performance by Gossip's Beth Ditto – what followed was a essentially a gig, Ditto belting out her best tunes on stage whilst models walked the runway in Christopher Kane's pop collection for the Versace sister label. A primary coloured bonanza based around plastic chains, the party went on after Ditto stormed the catwalk chanting, "Donatella, I wanna beeeeeee your dogggggg," crowning a rousing rendition of The Stooges' classic. Which, for the record, is also one of DV's favourite songs.
I love the primary Lego colours, it was so fun to see a show with live music being played
"I love the primary Lego colours, it was so fun to see a show with live music being played," said Dazed's senior fashion editor Robbie Spencer afterwards. "It gives so much more energy to a show, especially when it's Beth Ditto singing! It was so cool when all the models came back out after the finale in their show looks and joined the party – it felt like a bygone era when designers would put on fashion shows in clubs, like Halston at Studio 54 when his models danced down the catwalk."
