Ryan Lo: Fashion East Womenswear SS13

Ryan Lo describes his collection as a "magpie mix of femme fatales: a Lacroix show-ending bride, a Wong Kar-Wai screen siren, soaked in wildness from the dark disco of Studio 54."

Today, his glitter swathed tableau at 50 St James featured girls posed in his tinsely, fluffy confections, whilst disco blared across the red light-bathed room.

Red and pink are this designers' colours and they're hues that stimulate the eye when presented as a pair. Arriving with a strong aesthetic from the off, his creations are nebulous, alien, no doubt a direct consequence of knitting with tulle and mesh and fusing his own fabrics with lycra. The effect's not unlike drinking syrup straight from the bottle.
