Launching in Feb 2012, it marks the 10th anniversary for the band and what better way to celebrate than by creating an amazing series of trainers. Jamie Hewlett, designer and co-creator of Gorillaz, is the brains behind the exclusive prints in which he’s incorporated elements from their extensive range of unique artwork. Comprising of four styles the collection will give the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette an edge by using the camouflage print from the cover of the band’s self-titled debut album as its signature design. If that wasn’t exciting enough the partnership will also include a Converse ‘Three Artists, One Song’ music collaboration where Gorillaz will anchor the project in which three diverse artists join together to create an original song. To commemorate the collaboration Gorillaz and Converse will also host a Gorillaz Sound System evening at the 100 Club, London this Thursday (1 December), which will be an exhilarating audio-visual experience of music, live percussion and special projections with special guests too. Gorillaz Sound System, 100 Club, 100 Oxford Street, London W1D 1LL. Tickets and info available from www.converse.co.uk, www.gorillaz.com or Gorillaz Facebook Escape the algorithm!
