The third and final instalment of this seasons MAN show supported by NewGen and Topman was from Shaun Samson, tipped as one to watch by a number of industry insiders. It was big proportions from the Southern California born and raised designer, with him looking back to his roots for inspiration. It was modern streetwear that was his main theme, looking at Mexican ponchos and blankets as the thread running through the garments. The washed out yet brilliant colours of the materials were used to great effect, with rough hessian smocks in neutrals, khaki’s and naturals, as the base, off setting the hand loom weaved materials. The colour combinations were eclectic giving his proposition for menswear a vibrant feel. Long wide shorts accompanied a large amount of the tops, which included sweatshirts and work shirts all with applied Mexican materials. Bags also featured heavily in the form of messenger and back packs. Those multicoloured materials appeared again on the accessories giving straps and pockets and added boost of colour.
