Featuring pared-back garments, from structured leather jackets and traditional corsets strung loosely across the model’s frame to loose dresses cinched ever so lightly at the waist, the pieces exuded sensuality – or, as the show notes, read: “A seduction through reduction.” Even more captivating, however, were the models’ haircuts in the Shanghai show, digitally-enhanced by British hairstylist Guido Palau to create an effortless, wispy effect fitting for the collection’s edgy chic. While not a complete makeover, each model’s hair was given a virtual boost with extra layers, bangs, and textures. As for the make-up, Pat McGrath took the IRL and virtual reins, giving the models “hyperreal, cinematic” skin. Think: brushed brows, natural lips, and subtle beams of highlighter.
